Think Organic

Our Story

The inspiration for the name “Think Organic” came from my first organic chemistry professor, Dr. Seann Mulcahy. Dr. Mulcahy would always close his emails with the phrase “think organic,” a playful reminder that often gave us students a chuckle amidst the challenging course material. His words encapsulated the essence of our journey through organic chemistry – embracing the complexity and thinking creatively to overcome obstacles. This phrase has become a guiding principle for our mission, symbolizing both the rigor and the camaraderie of mastering organic chemistry.

Organic chemistry has always been a formidable challenge, one that I personally wrestled with during my academic journey. I vividly remember the many sleepless nights spent poring over textbooks and lecture notes, trying to decode the complexities of chemical reactions and syntheses. The frustration of hitting a wall, despite hours of diligent study, was a frequent companion. It took me a long time to discover the most effective ways to study organic chemistry, to find methods that not only improved my understanding but also helped me avoid the dreaded burnout.

Throughout this journey, I found myself becoming someone my classmates and friends would turn to for help with organic chemistry. Whether it was explaining a tricky concept, reviewing problem sets, or offering study tips- I became a go-to resource for many. I realized that my own struggles and eventual triumphs could be valuable to others facing the same challenges. This sense of camaraderie and mutual support was incredibly fulfilling and sowed the seeds of what would become Think Organic.

During the summer of 2024, driven by my passion for the subject and my desire to help others, I decided to turn this informal tutoring into something more structured and accessible. Thus, Think Organic was born as a personal project, with the mission to provide timely, accessible, and personalized assistance in organic chemistry. Our goal is to bridge the gap left by traditional academic support, offering students the help they need, whenever they need it.

Think Organic is not just a tutoring service; it’s a community built on the experiences of former students who understand the highs and lows of mastering organic chemistry. We are here to share our knowledge, strategies, and support to help you navigate this challenging course with confidence and ease. Our journey is your journey, and we are committed to helping you succeed, just as we have helped countless others before you.
